Light Duty Core Gripping Roll Handlers
Core gripping roll handlers use a long shaft that inserts into the core of your roll and expands to fit the inside circumference.
Light Duty Core Gripping roll handlers are used to lift, move, and reorient rolls that weigh from 0 lbs. to 500 lbs.
These pieces of equipment can be designed to perform a number of functions, the two main functions are;
Horizontal
Roll handlers that are designed mainly to move a roll from one point to another without having to change the horizontal orientation of a roll. The shaft fits inside the core of the roll, can move the core up or down, forward or back, side to side.
Lift, turn, and rotate
Roll handlers that are designed to change the orientation of a roll. This can be to turn, rotate, and lift. The shaft fits inside the core of the roll and expands to grip the inside circumference. That way the roll can be turned from a horizontal to vertical orientation, rotated in tight spaces, or between different machinery, among many other practical uses.

Injury incident: Accident Report Detail
At 6:00 p.m. on January 15, 2019, an employee was attempting to position and align a roll of paper on an A & F machine. The employee was using his hands to pull the roll when his hands slipped off the roll and caused the employee to fall on the ground. The employee was transported to the hospital and treated for a fractured right femur.

Expand-O-Turn 12107-1 Series Electric
The 12107-1 Series Electric Expand-O-Turn roll handling device is an electrically operated core expander designed for paper and film rolls with 3” and 6” cores. This roll handling device allows for you to manually rotate the roll of a variety of different dimensions, and rolls which weigh up to 300 lbs. The rolls can be picked up from the vertical position at floor/pallet level and deposited at random heights in a horizontal position.

Expand-O-Turn 12107-3 Series Air Activated Roll Handler
This vertical roll lifter is an air-activated core expander designed for paper and film rolls. It can lift rolls of varying dimensions with 3” and 6” cores that weigh up to 250 pounds from a vertical position on the floor/pallet and place them at heights designated by the operator in a horizontal position. The Expand-O-Turn expander is switch operated and provides air to a bladder inside the expander mechanism.

Expand-O-Turn 17970 Series Pneumatic Roll Handler
The 17970 Series Pneumatic Expand-O-Turn is designed to lift and turn rolls by their cores and is perfect for palletizing, transporting and loading rolls. The roll handling unit is operated with the use of the pushbuttons making it efficient and easy to use. For paper and film rolls that have unique core sizes, the Expand-O-Turn uses a DC powered compressor for core expansion. Rolls of varying dimensions can then be safely handled.
