Heavy Duty Outside Clamping Roll Handlers
Clamp gripping roll handlers use a clamping mechanism that grips the outside of the roll.
Heavy Duty Outside Clamping roll handlers are used to lift, move, and reorient rolls that weigh 500 lbs. or more.
These pieces of equipment can be designed to perform a number of functions, the two main functions are;
Horizontal or Vertical
Roll handlers that are designed mainly to move a roll from one point to another without having to change the horizontal or vertical orientation of a roll. The clamp fits on the outside of the roll and can move the roll up or down, forward or back, side to side.
Lift, turn, and rotate
Roll handlers that are designed to change the orientation of a roll. This can be to turn, rotate, and lift. The clamp fits on the outside of the roll and the roll can be turned from a horizontal to vertical orientation, rotated in tight spaces, or between different machinery, among many other practical uses.

Injury incident: Accident Report Detail
At 2:00 p.m. on June 20, 2018, Employee#1 and a coworker were attempting to tilt a large paper roll to a 90 degree angle, vertically, after it had been unintentionally tilted in an unstable position, with a forklift. As the two attempted this, the large roll slid horizontally, and fell onto the thighs and legs of Employee #1. The employee sustained a big toe fracture on his left foot and was hospitalized.

The Delta-Outside Clamp is able to lift and turn rolls by utilizing their outside diameter to lift them allowing for the user to palletize, transport and load rolls of a variety of sizes up to 2,200 lbs (1,000 kg). This roll handling lifting device is often used to clamp on the outside diameter of large rolls and turn them in order for them to be moved and stored in a different location of your facility.
