Injury incident: Accident Report Detail

At 7:45 a.m. on May 1, 2018, an employee was attempting to reposition a roll of film in order to properly feed a coating machine. The employee lifted one side of the spindle using a lifting platform and was attempting to break the roll free from the end-lock on the other side. When the roll broke free from the end-lock, it sprang to the other side where the employee was holding the spindle near the end-lock. The roll crushed the employee’s finger against the end-lock, resulting in a partial amputation and fracture to the right thumb.

Cloth Roll Handling Attachment

Designed for handling cloth rolls, this attachment connects seamlessly to the Lift-O-Flex series of lifters and is available in two configurations to suit your application. The vertical-to-horizontal option utilizes the Squeeze-O-Turn end effector combined with long grippers to safely reorient cloth rolls from a vertical to a horizontal position, while the horizontal-to-horizontal option features fixed forks with a “V” block or core probe to efficiently transfer rolls from pallets directly onto the “V” block.

Flexographic Plate Attachment

This flexographic sheath fits securely around the outside of a roll to minimize potential damage during handling and is specially designed to ensure that the product inside remains fully protected throughout the lifting process.

Tip Module

Designed to provide an additional axis of movement for roll handling devices, this unit enables the elevation changes required for efficient load pick-up and drop-off. Built for lifting and moving rolls, it operates with manual movement and push-button controls, supports a single user, and offers a weight capacity of up to 320 lbs. Compatible attachments include a Tip Module and a Roll Handling Unit, making it a versatile solution for roll handling applications.

Anti-telescopic roll handling attachment

Designed for Lift-O-Flex and Expand-O-Turn roll handling systems. It has the option of being used with electric or manual powered systems and comes in custom or standard sizes. The attachment itself is manually operated and used to stabilize rolls before they are rotated for placement onto spindles.

Adjustable Core Probe Attachment

Designed for lifting and moving rolls, this Lift-O-Flex model allows rolls requiring offset loading to be easily positioned onto spindles while enabling the same core probe used for center access to be adjusted to the right or left as needed. Featuring manual movement with push-button controls, it is operated by one user, supports up to 160 lbs, and utilizes an adjustable core probe gripping mechanism for precise and flexible roll handling.

Electric Roll Handling Kit

Designed for lifting and moving rolls, this Lift-O-Flex model accommodates rolls that require offset loading onto spindles and allows the same core probe used for center access to be adjusted to either the right or left position for added flexibility. It features manual movement with push-button controls, is operated by a single user, supports a weight capacity of up to 160 lbs, and utilizes an adjustable core probe gripping mechanism for precise and efficient roll handling.
