Gargoyle Ladder Guardrail
Avoid working at heights noncompliance with our Gargoyle Ladder Guardrail. Any unprotected leading edge on a rooftop with a fixed access, parapet or platform ladder needs to be secured with a ladder safety system. Gargoyle Ladder Guardrail is a system of guardrails designed to create an egress from the leading edge of your rooftop. This modular system is customizable based on the type and location of the rooftop ladder and can be retrofitted to existing fixed access ladders.
Our Ladder Guardrail systems are counterweighted, freestanding fall protection systems which utilize our nesting base plate design to ensure optimum weight is allotted at engineered approved points while eliminating the need to attach directly to the roof membrane.
This system is designed to blend in with the existing roof aesthetics and can be customized in order to securely maneuver multiple elevation requirements. When coupled with our Gargoyle Ladder Series or Custom Fixed Access Ladders you will have a complete rooftop safety solution.
What To Expect From OSHA
- When there is a break in elevation of 19 inches (48 cm) or more and no ramp, runway, embankment or personnel hoist is available, employers must provide a stairway or ladder at all worker points of access.
- When there is only one point of access between levels, employers must keep it clear of obstacles to permit free passage by workers. If free passage becomes restricted, employers must provide a second point of access and ensure that workers use it.
- When there are more than two points of access between levels, employers must ensure that at least one point of access remains clear.
- In addition, employers must install all stairway and ladder fall protection systems required by these rules and ensure that their worksite meets all requirements of the stairway and ladder rules before employees use stairways or ladders. See 29 CFR 1926.1050-1060 for the details of the standard.

ON THE LEADING EDGE OF SAFETY
The Hierarchy of Fall Protection Solutions
Elimination of Hazards
- Whenever possible, remove the fall hazard itself.
- If there is no fall hazard, there’s no fall.
Passive Systems
- Do not require the use of Personal Protective Equipment or active participation from the worker.
- Include Guardrails or Netting Systems.
- A preferred choice for its ease of use without the need for additional training and PPE.
Fall Restraint
- Uses personal fall arrest equipment (harness, lanyard, a. anchor point) to stop the user from reaching the edge.
- This type of ttying-offi p the user from falling in the first place.
Fall Arrest
- When all other solutions are infeasible.
- Fall arrest uses the same equipment as fall restraint but the fall protection equipment engages after the fall happens
- When it engages, the equipment slows the workers descent, bringing them to a safe stop.
