SOLUTION

A modular, free-standing guardrail kit with counterweighted bases was installed to provide versatile, roof-friendly fall protection that’s easy to set up and meets safety standards.

This project involved the installation of a 27 ft Gargoyle Rooftop Guardrail System to provide passive fall protection around a rooftop HVAC unit. The system was configured to accommodate site-specific requirements, using hinged variable fittings to allow straight and angled sections without compromising stability or safety.

A helicopter access stand was designed to provide safe, stable access to difficult-to-reach areas, supporting efficient maintenance, inspections, and repairs.

The free-standing guardrail was installed without roof penetration, preserving the integrity of the roof membrane while delivering a secure edge protection solution. Pre-assembled posts and modular components allowed for efficient installation, and the lightweight, corrosion-resistant aluminum construction ensured long-term durability. The completed system provides safe access for maintenance personnel and meets or exceeds all applicable ANSI and OSHA safety standards.
